Located 15 km north of Ernakulam city, in the state of Kerala, on about 180 acres in Thrikkakara, the main campus is serene and beautiful. Rolling hills with patches of thick green and planted trees, plenty of fresh air and sunshine lift the spirit of students, staff and faculty. The main administrative block is built in the traditional kerala style with tiled roofs and is very functional. The main campus houses 14 teaching and research departments, 8 auxiliary institutions, 5 hostels, guest house, visiting faculty complex, computer centre, administrative office, central library, staff quarters, post office, bank, health centre, play grounds and courts and a gymnasium. Another campus of University is located in Ernakulam, by the side of the sea, and houses the School of Marine Sciences, the School of Environmental Studies and the Department of Industrial Fisheries and men's hostel. Proximity to the sea and infra-structural facilities like a jetty, several sea-going vessels provide an environment and facilities essential for marine and related science studies.
